I have been sheltering in place, like everyone else, for almost 2 months. My only outside activity is a long walk every day. It has been a revelation - seeing up close those things that I would normally just drive by and barely if, if I saw them at all. Today I walked past this Agave in a neighbor's front yard, something that I had never seen and never would without the quarantine. I volunteer at the Arizona Garden at Stanford University, a one - acre garden containing cacti and succulent plants from all over the world. I have also been a collector of similar plants since the mid-70s. I have always thought they are quite beautiful, sculptural, with spectacular flowers.
