During a trip to Paris a couple of years ago we went to visit the Pere Lachaise cemetery. It was established by Napoleon and opened in 1804 and contains the remains of the famous and not so famous - Moliere, Chopin, Balzac, Sarah Bernhardt, Camus, Debussy and many more - 33,000 in all, including the grave of Jim Morrison of The Doors, a shrine of sorts. This is an anonymous grave - I purposely did not include the name. But it is typical of the baroque and rococo style of many of them.
