The Charles Bridge is justifiably famous as a tourist landmark in Prague. I spans the Vltava River and links the city center to the Castle District, the home of the President of the Czech Republic and historic seat of power for the kings of Bohemia and Holy Roman emperors, as well as past presidents of Czechoslovakia. The Bohemian crown jewels are kept in a hidden room on the castle grounds. It offers a wonderful view of the the river and the city.
